Raid: Shadow Legends a turn-based battle game which was released in early 2019 by Plarium Global Ltd. Raid provides a mobile experience that looks and feels like a console RPG and appealing to whoever loves immersive, story-based, dark RPG with Epic PvP Battles gameplay, in which players build a team of in-game characters aka heroes to fight enemies. 

In total, 1,582,254 reviews are found in Google play store with 4.5 stars rating. There has been 10,000,000+ installs and the most recent update is December 6, 2021. While in Apple app store Raid: Shadow Legends is ranked No. 55 in Role Playing category with 4.7 stars rating by 361.4K users. The app is rated as 12+ on Apple iOS App store for its fantasy violence and “Teen” in Google Play store. 

Mobile gaming has evolved rapidly in recent years. Modern smartphone with increased ram and memory specs makes it possible for mobile phones now become rival of most gaming PC. Followed by the aggressive marketing campaign by using online personalities and influencers on social media, Raid: Shadow Legends has shown two main focuses - Graphics and Community Play.

When it comes to the graphics Plarium has done an excellent job. They have pushed the digital art to the limit for mobile phones. Their game interfaces are clean, smooth and have virtually no lag.

The game adopts an “energy play system” with regular gifts and rewards you don’t have to fear not playing.  Players are to assemble the team of five game characters from low-level fighter to a high-level strategist or sorcerers. Each character has its own unique ability to contribute during the fight. However, it is no surprise that a lower-level character can defeat a higher-level counterpart as long as it belongs to that opposing character type. 

The game has the classic turn-based RPG where all the gameplay revolves around the management of the characters. By default, autoplay feature is activated and is actually the best choice to adopt, considering the extreme repetitiveness of the fights. Of course, players can avoid using the autoplay, but the built-in game AI does a great job in winning fight and performing tasks; which makes no sense to play the game manually. In addition, if you choose “High Speed” mode the game progresses itself at twice of the normal speed and the waiting time is halved. 

On the other hand, there are players who have a different view on the inclusion of the auto play feature. They believe that it removes all joy for playing it by themselves. Moreover, the continuous and exhausting pop-ups of various packages on offer ruin the overall gaming experience as well.
